Border Crossing - Departing
Mexico
|
|
Unlike the U.S., when departing Mexican airspace
the last stop before crossing the border must be at a Mexican Airport
of Entry (AOE).
What to Expect:
● Immigration (Migración) will take back you tourist cards.
● Customs (Aduana) will ask you a few questions.
● The General Declaration will be taken back.
● A Mexican border crossing flight plan must be filed with the authorities
at the Mexican AOE.
●An abbreviated U.S. border crossing flight plan must be filed with
U.S. FSS prior to crossing into U.S. airspace. This can be accomplished
by phone, by radio, or by filing a "return trip customs notification"
prior to departing U.S. and updating your ETA at least 30 minutes
prior to your arrival.
● WARNING: U.S. Customs needs to be notified a minimum of 60 minutes
prior to arrival at a U.S. AOE. This is strictly enforced. A $5000
fine can be imposed for early arrival. Stay south of the U.S. |
